I did not realize just how long it has been since I posted an update on this page. Wow! Time has flown by for sure. The roof is done but the Amish crew did not do the work. We had to move ahead and work on it ourselves. Well, I did not get into the picture. I just took photos and stayed out of the way! My friend, Michael put the roof on. DH helped by cleaning up the debris and loading the dumpster that we rented. He had hoped to be involved but he just was exhausted just doing the clean up. We had a lot of fun during the process! It was a real adventure but the finished result makes it all worthwhile.
The roof now has a proper overhang and meets building codes and regulations. It has improved the value of the cottage and the roof no longer leaks! The back door is actually like our front door so we put up some really nice Christmas lights. It was really beautiful to see that the little yellow house has grown up to be a lovely home.
